In case you were wondering… marathon training is going splendidly! But I’ve been cramming as much summer fun as possible in between those morning miles, track repeats and long Sunday runs, which has made it nearly impossible to find time for blogging. But I’m here right now, armed with an iPhone full of recent photos […]
I’ve always been an evening runner. Sure, I did my long weekend training runs in the mornings—the sooner they’re over, the sooner brunch happens—but during the week, waking up early enough to fit in 4 miles before work was just too painful. For one, I used to settle into my cubicle before 8 a.m. And then there’s that […]
Ah, the magic of chickpeas. Is there anything these little legumes can’t do? They’re perfect all roasty-toasty, super easy to sprinkle on salads, and I use them in my fair share of cookies, but while editing a story at work about dessert hummus, I knew I had to get in on that trend, too. And […]
I’ve always prided myself on being fiercely independent. As a wallflower kid, biking to my secret spot in the park and reading was my jam. By college I was all about going to the movie theater alone, something high school me would have been embarrassed of. And running has always been a solitary activity for me, a time […]
Raise your hand if you always forget how hot and horribly humid summer gets (*raises hand wayyy up*). The best reward after an almost-too-sweaty-to-handle run is a frosty ice pop, which is why I invested in some popsicle molds last summer.
In search of a fun trail for future long runs, I headed to the Lehigh Canal Towpath for yesterday’s 12-miler. I’d heard the path extended all the way from Allentown through Bethlehem to Easton, so it sounded like the perfect spot for an out-and-back run.
Tomorrow marks one full week of living the small-town life here in the Lehigh Valley. There are some total perks, like living a mile from work—not driving my car for days makes me one happy lady. And the trees, oh my gosh.
When I signed up for the Rock ‘n Sole half marathon on a whim just four weeks ahead of time, it was mostly to run myself out of a rut. I had no idea then that it would turn out to be my last race (for the foreseeable future) in Milwaukee—a lot can happen in a month!
BIG news! After nearly five years in Milwaukee, I’m moving east to Pennsylvania for a new job. I’ll be associate digital editor for a health magazine based there, and I am unbelievably excited for the new challenge, fitting subject matter and gorgeous hiking spots nearby. Plus, I’ll be just a bus ride away from NYC, wee!
